Sultan

coming soon.jpg

A large crest, graceful tail, relaxed wings and feathered legs - what more could one want in a bird bred for your viewing pleasure? Once gracing the gardens of the Ottoman palaces, this now-rare breed was imported to England in 1854. Less than 20 years later, they came to America. Surviving a near-extinction in 1930, these beautiful birds need protection more than ever!

Although white is the only color registered to the American Poultry Association, Sultans have long since come in many colors, including black, blue, silver, red, and ice. We were fortunate enough to locate a breeder with all of these colors, and have acquired several dozen hatching eggs now in our incubator. Fingers crossed!
